this is NOT real trance. this is vocal pop trance. one of the worst songs armin or any other DJ has made. people make fun of this, and Armin knows about it and learned his lesson, hopefully. but sadly some people outside the trance community like this, which might encourage him to make more with this vocalist.

@whatwhatwhat7 It seems like you are focusing a lot on the guitar sounding part which doesn't sound so much like trance, but if you take any other part it sounds like typical trance like 2:45 to the end it. It has its own sound and just because its different doesn't mean its bad. Don't be so concerned with liking music of only one specific genre because if you don't like it, that's fine, but there is no reason to blame some specific genre. I like all kinds of trance, including this.

Armin has joked of "going wrong" himself. he is aware that a lot of people were thrown back by how cheesy is sounded. I am not making "shit up." trance is a way of life, and it becomes a part time job. you study the history, you research the new trends and you know everything about the genre. when you get to that stage you will realize what i am talking about. you also keep up with the DJs and what they are up to. ie. I Spoke with Armin in a chatroom last week. i keep informed. how about u?

Part-time job, history, whatever. I've DJ'd since the mid-80's when techno/trance was still in its infancy at the Sound Factory, 4D, Tunnel, The Palladium, to name a few venues. A lot of what becomes 'trance' does not start out that way. Take Imogen Heap's 'Hide & Seek', Sarah MacLachlan's 'Silence', Kirsty Hawkshaw's 'Just Be', 'Walking on Clouds' are just a few tracks that did not start out as trance and were huge hits after being remixed.

i don't think he says this is a mistake, i just know a lot of fans say that. i don't want to be putting words i his mouth. and well... a lot of what is trance starts as trance. few remixes a year become hits like that. anyway it doesn't matter. i'll be looking forward to Armin's new album which should be coming this year. i think he has big things stored for it.
